You want your place to look cool right? Maybe the gray walls of your cubicle don’t quite fit your fancy. Maybe that wall across from the dinner table looks a little drab. Maybe you just want to be crafty without being crafty. If you fit underneath any of these, then you should invest in some paint chip samples. By invest, I mean that you need to drive to your local hardware store and grab some. You can do so many cool things with them, things that you never would have imagined.
One idea is that you can take them and arrange them in a mosaic/collage sort of way to create a work of art in your home. You can sort them according to color, temperature, or really anything that you like. Some people make rainbows, other create a jumble of bright colors with subtle colors on the other side. Whatever you want to do is exactly what you should do because it will create a work of art uniquely yours that can brighten you house.
You can use them as name place cards for events such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you have a huge amount of family coming over, this is the perfect idea! If it is a family reunion, you can assign each family a color with individual names on them, that way they can find their place easily and you can distribute them how you would like. That could even continue on as a theme if you wanted for the whole reunion.
If you are moving somewhere and you do not want to send out letters and such alerting people, you can find a printer and just print your new information on these samples. It looks super cute and the paper that they are made of is very durable. This way your neighbors and people in the community will be able to contact you after you move and you will have told them in a very cost effective way.
Access to a print/binding shop would be ideal because you can use the paint chip samples as the covers for notebooks. All you have to do is take the front and put it on a spiral with the notebook paper in between. This creates extremely useful and unique notebooks that you can even sort by subject (if you use a different color for each subject).
There is no end to the things that you can do with a bunch of free paint chip samples. There are lamps you can make, bookmarks, coasters, placemats, earrings, greeting cards, and small containers. They make where ever you are much more personal and unique!
