Congratulations on your pregnancy! There is so much ahead to learn and to experience. There are so many things to buy, so many things to clean, so many things to read, so many things to arrange, so many things to plan, and so on and so forth. Having a baby is a whole lifestyle change. One of the most fun parts of being pregnant though is decorating your new baby’s nursery. There is really nothing like it. Having a baby is wonderful and you can find lots of tips at babystepz.com to help you on your journey of motherhood.
The first things you need to do when planning your baby’s nursery is come up with a theme. It doesn’t have to be kitschy or overdone. It can be as simple as owls or a specific as Winnie the Pooh. No matter what you choose a theme is the best place to start.
Second you need to pick out a crib set. You can go with a premade set or make one yourself. There is also the option of buying basic colored or patterned sheets and a basic bumper and then adding to it all with cute blankets and accessories throughout the room as well as a super cute mobile.
Third you need to pick out your colors. You have probably already done this from picking out your crib set, but now you need to get more specific. What wall color do you want? What colors for the curtains? What color for the rocking chair? What color for the furniture? There are plenty of colors to be determined.
Fourth you need to pick out the artwork for the baby’s room, including the mobile. You can pick more traditional items or more eclectic ones. Picking out nursery décor can be as simple as buying all of the matching pieces to your crib set. You don’t have to stop at those matching items though and maybe they don’t even suit your style. You can create your own artwork, have pillows made to place throughout the room, create a reading nook, etc. There are endless possibilities.
Fifth you need to paint. Before you put anything into the room you need to get it painted. Be sure to tape things off nicely, so that it looks nice for baby.
Sixth you can finally put together all of the furniture and add the finishing touches. Your nursery never looked so good. Make sure to add accessories like lamps to help with the mood. Look at Hansen Lighting for great options for lights.
Seventh you can rest. Put your feet up on that amazingly comfortable rocking chair that you bought yourself, sit back, and relax. Get in some reading on that chair before you head out to give birth to your precious little one. Read some books to baby or sing some lullaby’s before baby even arrives.
Have fun creating the nursery of your dreams. You can do it on any budget and have fun with it. There are plenty of ideas for do-it-yourselfers as well. Every mom can give her baby a beautiful nursery or nursery area with a little planning and a lot of sweat, paint, and fabric. Congratulations on your new baby and nursery.
